Kathmandu. Acting President of the National Independent Party, Dol Prasad Aryal, has drawn the government’s attention to the complaints that the Nepali Embassy in India has ignored the pain and suffering of Nepalis. Speaking at the meeting of the House of Representatives held on Wednesday, he drew the government’s attention.
He said that there have been complaints that Nepalis are being charged high fees when they go to the embassy to get a recommendation. He said that there have also been complaints that Nepalis who have given birth in India have been struggling to get Nepali citizenship after returning to Nepal.
He also claimed that the government has not supported Nepali industrialists and businessmen in India when they tried to invest in Nepal. Acting President Aryal said that the government should show interest in addressing the problems of Nepalis in India.
He said, “Many Nepalis have been living in various states of India. I would like to draw the serious attention of the government to this issue as there have been complaints that the Nepali Embassy in India, instead of providing relief to the suffering and pain of Nepalis in India, spends a lot of money to get a recommendation. Similarly, many Nepalis give birth there, and when they come to Nepal and try to get citizenship, they have a hard time getting citizenship. Similarly, Nepalis in India, who are industrialists and businessmen, have complained that the government has not provided any support when they invest in Nepal, and I would like to draw the serious attention of the government to this issue.”
He also said that there have been complaints that the Nepali government has treated them like third-class citizens.
