Agency. The Hamas-run media office said that more than 500,000 displaced Palestinians have returned to northern Gaza in the past 72 hours.
More than five hundred thousand (500,000) displaced Palestinians have returned to Gaza and the northern provinces via the al-Rashid and Salah al-Din roads from the southern and central provinces in the past 72 hours, the media office reported.
Israel began allowing displaced people to return to the northern Gaza Strip on Monday, following a ceasefire agreement with Hamas that ended 15 months of fighting. Hamas’ armed wing, the Al-Qassam Brigades, released three Israeli prisoners on Thursday.
Israel will release 110 Palestinian prisoners in exchange. Gaza health officials said hospitals had recovered 63 bodies in the past 24 hours. This included 59 pulled from the rubble, two who died from injuries and two new deaths. This brings the total number of deaths since October 7, 2023 to 47,417. Of these, 111,571 were injured.
