Mustang. Mustang: Tourist arrivals in Mustang have increased with the upgradation of Beni-Jomsom-Korala road. Myagdi and Mustang sections of Korala road have been widened by two-thirds.
Mustang is a major religious and tourist destination of the country. Muktinath Temple, Kagbenidham and Damodarkunda are the main religious places. Similarly, Lomanthang Durbar, Korlanaka, Dhumbatal, Ghar Gumba, Marfa and Jomsom Bazaar of Upper Mustang are the tourist destinations here. Different geography, natural beauty, biological diversity, ancient monasteries and monasteries as well as its religious, social and cultural heritage have been attracting people of any age.
Compared to the tourism statistics of the last five years, the number of tourists in Mustang has doubled. According to the District Police Office, a total of 678,536 tourists, including domestic and foreign tourists, visited Mustang during the 11-month period of the current fiscal year 2081/82 BS. A total of 454,326 domestic and foreign tourists visited Mustang in the last fiscal year. A total of 539,872 domestic and 138,664 foreigners from 72 countries have visited Mustang from Mid-July to Mid-May of the current fiscal year. A total of 354,927 Nepalis and 99,399 foreigners visited Nepal last year.
According to the records of the office, 99,176 domestic tourists visited Mustang in the month of November and 89,344 in the month of March of the current fiscal year. Similarly, 28,372 foreigners visited Mustang in May and 26,029 in April.
