Kathmandu. Deputy Prime Minister and Finance Minister Bishnu Poudel has commented that the monarchy is trying to raise its head and wake up the dead from the grave.
Speaking at a program organized in Kathmandu on Sunday, Minister Poudel said that the monarchy can never come to power in Nepal again. He said that the monarchy has left Nepali society forever because it has raised questions about its legitimacy. He commented that the ugly face of the monarchy was seen on the streets last Friday. He said that the movement showed that the monarchists are against violence, terror, looting and the fundamental rights of citizens. He said that the republican parties have the responsibility to move forward by strengthening the federal democratic republic established by the people.
He said, “The way the defunct monarchy is trying to raise its head today is actually like trying to resurrect the dead from the crematorium. The monarchy can never return to Nepal. The monarchy can never come to power in Nepal. We should not have any doubts about this. As far as the monarchy advocates are concerned. The supporters of the monarchy are concerned. What is their real character has been revealed in the incident of 2 days ago. The ugly face of the monarchy has been seen on the streets. It has been seen that the monarchists are in favor of violence, in favor of terror, the monarchists are in favor of looting and the monarchists are against the fundamental rights of the citizens. Therefore, the Nepali people can never be in favor of looting, in favor of violence, in favor of dictatorship. It is clear. Now, political parties have the responsibility to strengthen the federal democratic republic established by the people.”
He said that it is necessary for parties to move forward in a way that addresses the needs and aspirations of the people in a proper manner and eliminates all forms of discrimination and inequality.
