Kathmandu. CPN (Maoist Centre) lawmaker Aman Lal Modi accused Finance Minister Bishnu Poudel of biased budget distribution. They have asked questions.
While discussing the Appropriation Bill in the Meeting of the House of Representatives on Sunday, Lawmaker Modi accused Finance Minister Poudel of focusing the budget only on his own constituency. He accused the finance minister of keeping most of the projects related to urban development and road construction focused on his district.
“He is not in parliament today. Is he the finance minister only from Rupandehi or is he the finance minister across the country? If we talk about the budget in the finance minister’s district alone, the Ministry of Urban Development has more than 87 and more than 40 road projects. What more will happen from other ministries? Tax will be collected from all the districts but the budget should be concentrated only in your constituency? Where will we go with such a situation?”
Lawmaker Modi opined that the uneven distribution of the budget would not lead to development as per the spirit of federalism.
