Kathmandu. Kathmandu: The Ministry of Health and Population has started preparations for necessary preparedness and prevention before the onset of monsoon-related disasters to control the epidemic. Minister for Health and Population Pradeep Poudel held a preparatory meeting in view of the possibility of various infections, diseases and epidemics during the rainy season and took six decisions regarding timely response and prevention, according to his private secretariat.
In a meeting with the health officials involved in disaster response and epidemic control today, Minister Poudel directed the health officials to identify the problem in time and make preparations. According to Minister Poudel’s private secretariat, the Department of Health Services will now make necessary preparations for the use and management of clean water and clean water by identifying the places where there is a possible epidemic according to the Epidemiology and Disease Control Division for epidemic prevention and control.
In addition, the National Health Education Information and Communication Center will start working to disseminate effective information materials to the local level for the use of pure water. The Epidemiology and Disease Control Division will hold a virtual meeting with rapid response groups at all local levels to collect necessary information and carry out preparations.
The Division will update the details of trained persons for health-related disaster control in all seven provinces and deploy them as per the need. Similarly, necessary preparations will be started in coordination with the National Emergency Operation Center and the National and Provincial Health Emergency Operation Center. The meeting decided to submit the ‘Infectious Diseases Act, 2020’ to the Ministry after making necessary preparations within a week from the Department of Health Services to amend the ‘Infectious Diseases Act, 2020’ as per the changing circumstances and requirements.
