Kathmandu. The Ministry of Finance has issued a circular to prevent the creation of liabilities for US grant programs. Nepal has also been affected after United States President Donald Trump stopped all grants.
Four plans are in operation after being signed between USAID and the Nepal government on 05 May 2022. Four programs are being launched through the Development Objective Advancement (DOAG) on Budget on Treasury.
Which include the USAID Health Direct Financing Project, USAID Agricultural Direct Financing Project, USAID Education Direct Financing Project and USAID Inclusive Policy Direct Financing Project.
The Ministry of Finance has said that no liabilities will be created in these projects for the next 90 days.
