Kathmandu. The government has allocated Rs 13 billion to the Ministry of Culture, Tourism and Civil Aviation.
Deputy Prime Minister and Finance Minister Bishnu Prasad Poudel said this while presenting the budget allocated for the upcoming fiscal year 2082/83 BS at a joint sitting of both houses of the federal parliament on Thursday.
Stating that rs 13.28 billion has been allocated to the ministry, he said legal provisions would be made to encourage the workers working in hotels, restaurants, jungle safaris and other tourism businesses through service charges.
Finance Minister Poudel claimed that infrastructure development would be carried out at major religious, cultural and tourist destinations including Sagarmatha, Pashupati, Lumbini, Janakpurdham, Muktinath, Swargadwari, Rara and Khaptad.
He said that the Comprehensive Lumbini Master Plan would be prepared and implemented for the conservation, development and promotion of lumbini region.
