Kathmandu. The Ministry of Health and Population is going to conduct free testing for non-communicable diseases throughout the coming Falgun with the aim of identifying non-communicable diseases and increasing awareness among the citizens. The ministry has stated that it will conduct a one-month free testing campaign from Falgun 1 to increase awareness about the need for timely treatment of non-communicable diseases.
During the campaign, all citizens above the age of 30 will be tested for diabetes, high blood pressure, kidney diseases at local health institutions, and the ratio of body height and weight will be identified, informed the spokesperson of the ministry, Dr. Prakash Budhathoki. According to him, 14.9 million citizens across the country are above the age of 30.
Dr. Budhathoki said, “All citizens above the age of 30 will be tested free of charge at health institutions up to the local level.” We will raise awareness among the general public about the need for treatment at all times.’ Minister for Health and Population Pradeep Poudel had approved the ‘One-Month Campaign Operation Guidelines on Non-Communicable Diseases’ on November 16.
Similarly, the ministry has stated that preparations are underway to conduct a screening campaign against cervical cancer in the month of Falgun.
