Kaski. The four-lane road from Harichowk in Pokhara to Yamdi Bridge under the Mid-Hill Highway of national pride under construction has begun to be blacktopped. According to the Mid-Hill Highway Project Office, the blacktopping work began from Kaseri Chowk on Tuesday night.
‘We have started blacktopping the road using asphalt technology,’ said Kiran Subedi, the project’s information officer. The goal is to complete the blacktopping within the current fiscal year. ‘The deadline extended by the 13th amendment to the Public Procurement Regulations has also expired. If the government extends the deadline again, it will be done accordingly. Otherwise, we will complete it even if we have to pay a fine to the construction company,’ said Subedi.
A contract has been signed with the construction company for the construction of the road for 480 million rupees including value-added tax.
