Dhorpatan. The Baglung section of the Mid-Hill Highway has been blocked due to rain and snowfall since this morning.
The Nisikhola-East Rukum section of Baglung under the highway has been blocked due to thick snow on the road. One and a half feet of snow has fallen in Patihalne of Nisikhola Rural Municipality-6.
Vehicles operating from East Rukum, West Rukum, Jajarkot, Dolpa and other places have been stopped due to the road blockage, informed Nisikhola Rural Municipality Chairman Surya Bahadur Gharti Magar. He said that it is still snowing continuously.
‘It had been raining since morning, and now it is snowing, so the road cannot be opened immediately. If the snow stops and the sun comes out, the road will have to be opened using machines. Although night buses from Kathmandu were operating in the morning, long and short distance vehicles are not operating now,’ said Chairman Gharti Magar.
There has also been heavy snowfall in the upper part of Nepal’s only Dhorpatan hunting reserve. Chak Bahadur Adai, a local of Dhorpatan Municipality-9, informed that normal life has been affected due to the snowfall that has fallen since morning.
