Kathmandu. A Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) has been signed between the Confederation of Nepalese Industries (CNI) and the Federation of Thai Industries (FTI). The MoU was signed during Prime Minister KP Sharma Oli’s official visit to Thailand to promote investment and expand economic and business relations between the private sectors of the two countries, the CNI said.

The MoU was signed by the President of the Confederation, Rajesh Kumar Agrawal, and the President of the FTI, Kriengrai Thennukul. “The two organizations have signed an agreement to cooperate in economic and trade-related studies, research, training and capacity development, legal and policy-related information exchange, along with investment and trade promotion,” said a press release issued by the federation.

Confederation President Agrawal expressed confidence that this agreement will help attract Thai investment as Nepal is a suitable destination country for foreign investors. He said that the government has reformed laws to help promote investment and investors can benefit from this.

The signing ceremony between the two organizations was attended by Nepali representatives who are visiting Thailand.
