Kathmandu. National Independent Party leader Manish Jha has said that the appointment of the governor is going to be done by middlemen. Speaking in the House of Representatives, Jha said that he took money from middlemen and put the governor’s post up for sale.

Targeting Finance Minister Bishnu Prasad Poudel, leader Jha said, “We have already found out from the Securities and Exchange Board which middlemen the name came from. We have also recently looked at the appointment of the Insurance Authority. I want to challenge you. I want to challenge you. Now the appointment of the governor is not going to come from free competition. If the qualification is not about international exposure. Which middleman gives how much money. We are waiting to see whose name will be sent.”

The Chairman of the Securities and Exchange Board of Nepal has been accused of misappropriating more than five billion rupees. In response, Finance Minister Poudel refused to comment. Minister Poudel said, “When MPs say such sentiments, they should think about it. I would also like to challenge them to confirm these allegations.”

Earlier, while addressing the House of Representatives on Tuesday (Falgun 27), Gagan Thapa had said that he was closely monitoring the appointment of the governor. He said, “When the government is making laws, everyone should benefit from it, and only a limited number of individuals and groups should not benefit from it. Questions have been raised repeatedly about the government’s decisions. The other day, the Honorable Deputy Prime Minister (Bishnu Prasad Poudel) took responsibility and said, but while taking responsibility, one thing should be kept in mind. The parliament is also watching, we are all watching, we are closely watching the appointment of the governor, we are closely watching the appointment of the IGP. Everyone knows who is a person and who is not a person in such a small country.”

Similarly, regarding the issue of appointments, the Chairman of the main opposition party, CPN-Maoist, Pushpa Kamal Dahal, had claimed that two-thirds of the government was captured by middlemen. Chairman Dahal said, “I see that the colleagues in the government are very proud now, saying that the government did this and that. I said then, and I still emphasize now, that I have not seen the ministers and the Prime Minister riding the two-thirds of the government, that horse has been ridden by middlemen. I don’t see the appointments you make, the settings you make, you do it. It is done by middlemen. I have seen it happening according to the decisions made by middlemen. I want to say with a challenge, tell me a single appointment and a single policy in the last eight months, which is not backed by middlemen. Just one example will do. Your meetings, committees and mechanisms look like a drama. Today, middlemen are in the driving seat of power. I have already explained why the government led by me was removed. Middlemen are in the driving seat of power. The audacity and trust of middlemen have made honest businessmen confused today. Tomorrow, you will be confused. .”
