Kathmandu. Elections are being held on Chaitra 23 to select the new leadership of the Nepal Bar Association. In this election, Advocate Mandira Adhikari has decided to run for the post of Member (Female Open).

According to her, she has registered her candidacy to strongly establish the principle of the rule of law and protect the rights and interests of legal practitioners.

Says that she is aware of the difficulties faced by legal practitioners in their professional lives from the ground up, and believes that the important role of the Nepal Bar Association should be to provide necessary guidance to new legal practitioners and provide professional stability.

‘The main objective of the bar is to protect the rights and interests of legal practitioners, and we should work with that as the focus,’ she said. He says that the Nepal Bar should end the trend of providing all kinds of opportunities to its close people but ignoring others and not giving them any opportunities.

The role of the Nepal Bar is indispensable in developing unity among legal professionals. Advocate Adhikari said that it has not been able to work effectively on the issues of professional rights and interests of legal professionals. She believes that legal professionals do not have easy access to the bar.

Advocate Mandira says that the role of the bar, which acts as a bridge between the court and the legal administration system, has deteriorated somewhat. Although the Bar Association constitutionally plays the role of warning the government, he says that the decision-making process within the organization needs to be improved as per the law. He plans to take the initiative to provide quality training, information and networking facilities to legal practitioners. She said that if elected to the Nepal Bar, she would make a significant contribution to the rule of law and the promotion of human rights.

Adhikari, who is affiliated with the Nepal Democratic Lawyers Association, emphasized that legal professionals should change the old trends and move forward by addressing the feelings of the new generation and the demands of the time, and mentioned that her candidacy is a test for those who want change.

Says that there are limited opportunities for women in the Bar Association and that the surrounding trend is creating problems, and she made it clear that she is trying to come to the leadership to remove such anomalies. Adhikari expressed her belief that if suitable candidates are selected from the election, the Nepal Bar Association will become the basis for professional development, institutional reform and leadership change of legal professionals.
