Makawanpur Traffic collects 13.2 million in revenue in six months

Bagmati. The District Traffic Police Office, Makawanpur, has increased revenue collection after tightening vehicle checks. The office has stated that more than Rs 13.2 million in revenue was collected in the first six months of the current fiscal year 2081/82 after tightening the rules on drivers and vehicles that violate traffic rules.

According to Chief Police Inspector Keshav Adhikari of the District Traffic Police Office, a revenue of Rs 13.2 million 24,503 has been collected from Shrawan to Poush of the current fiscal year. Police Inspector Adhikari said that the revenue was collected by taking action against 17,041 vehicles of various types during that period. This is 1.62 million 500 more revenue collection compared to the same period of the previous fiscal year.

During the first six months of the previous fiscal year 2080/81, the District Traffic Police Office collected 1.64 million 100 thousand in revenue by taking action against 15,855 vehicles. Similarly, 20 people died in 196 vehicle accidents in Makawanpur during that period. According to the District Traffic Police Office, 94 people were seriously injured in vehicle accidents during this period.

The police inspector said that the increase in revenue collection was due to stricter traffic checks. The District Traffic Police Office has also been conducting public awareness programs with the aim of reducing traffic accidents.
