Kathmandu. Mahalaxmi Bikas Bank has launched the latest inter-bank ‘Scan to Cash’ service in collaboration with Phone Pay. Mahalaxmi Bikas Bank has become the first development bank in Nepal to launch such a service.
Under this, customers can easily withdraw cash by scanning QR at the teller counter through any bank’s mobile banking app, the bank has said. This service, which was launched from the Durbarmarg branch and Thapathali branch of this bank in the initial phase, will be expanded across the country in the near future.
The bank believes that with the expansion of this facility, it will help reduce the compulsion to withdraw cash through the traditional use of checks or ATM cards. Further strengthening its commitment to digital innovation, the bank has also launched a cross-border QR payment service through the Alipay Plus network in collaboration with Nepal Clearing House Limited.
Through this service, tourists from countries including China, Singapore, South Korea and others can scan Nepal Pay QR and easily make payments in Nepal from their country’s digital wallet, the bank said. The bank has recently launched “Mahalaxmi Smart Sathi” by refining its mobile application in line with the bank’s policy of providing cutting-edge, secure and easy digital banking facilities to its customers.
