Janakpurdham. A dozen private schools operating illegally and without registration in a municipality of Dhanusha have been closed from today. Despite repeated notices, private schools operating without registration in Mukhiyapati Rural Municipality have been forced to close, informed Rural Municipality Chairman Jayakumar Yadav.
He informed that a dozen schools including New Sky, Terai Child Development, Gangalal Shishu Pathshala have been closed among the closed private schools. According to the Local Government Operation Act 2074, the local level has the right to operate and manage education up to the basic and secondary levels.
Accordingly, his municipality has taken action with the aim of improving the quality of education. Municipal Chairman Yadav urged parents not to enroll their children in illegally operating schools. He also directed school administrators to register and operate schools as per legal procedures and standards.
