Kathmandu. Prime Minister KP Sharma Oli has said that the local government formed after the establishment of the federal democratic republic has truly brought Singha Durbar to the villages. At the 32nd anniversary program organized by the Nepal Municipal Association here today, Prime Minister Oli made it clear that there is no alternative to it as a strong local government was formed with the end of the monarchy as a result of the long struggle and sacrifice of the Nepali people.
‘During the implementation of the constitution, there has been a debate about the structure of the provinces, but no question has been raised about the local government. Therefore, there is no alternative to the local government. This is the government closest to serving the people,’ Prime Minister Oli said in front of the people’s representatives. ‘The problems and demands of the local level will be resolved gradually by formulating appropriate policies and laws. This will require the necessary cooperation and coordination between all three levels of government.’
Prime Minister Oli, targeting the activities taking place in the name of restoring the monarchy, emphasized that everyone should work towards strengthening the republic as the people have not forgotten the autocracy imposed during the monarchy.
