Karnali. Karnali Province Chief Minister Yamalal Kandel today laid the foundation stone of the ‘Liquid Nitrogen Plant’ building to be built in Birendranagar, the capital Surkhet. The building is being constructed on the premises of the Livestock Development Directorate under the Ministry of Land Management, Agriculture and Cooperatives of Karnali Province.
The building is being constructed at a cost of Rs 48.5 million. Laying the foundation stone of the building, Chief Minister Kandel said that the construction of the plant building will facilitate the production of advanced livestock. He said that the establishment of a similar liquid nitrogen plant will help the province become self-reliant in milk.
After the establishment of the plant, the goal is to improve the breed of cows and buffaloes and produce high-quality calves and calves. The ministry had prepared a detailed project report (DPR) worth Rs 4 million in the last fiscal year and moved forward with the work. This will facilitate the storage of animal semen and improvement of artificial insemination breeds.
Provincial Land Management, Agriculture and Cooperatives Minister Binod Kumar Shah said that the building will help in preserving the semen of high-grade cows and bulls purchased from outside and using it in the artificial insemination process.
