Kathmandu. Rastriya Swatantra Party President Ravi Lamichhane has accused the government of creating confusion that the money of the Sanopaila Cooperative in Birgunj, Parsa, went to the Gorkha Media, as if it were hiding the Tinkune incident. He made this allegation during a meeting with Speaker Devraj Ghimire at Singha Durbar on Tuesday.

When asked by media persons how he viewed the delay in Parsa, he commented that the government has been covering up even after everything was exposed, like the Tinkune incident. President Lamichhane accused the government of registering the Parsa case by using people.

He said that he met the Speaker to allow him to be present in the parliament, as the parliament is the highest body for people’s representatives. He said that he met with Speaker Ghimire with the intention of resolving the parliamentary issue from the parliament itself.

Speaker Lamichhane said, ‘Parliament is the highest body for MPs and people’s representatives. On the first day of this session of the House, I had submitted a procedural application to the Honorable Speaker. The purpose of the law is not this, but because of political revenge, I had made a legal point that suspension should not be based on a case that was registered and filed at the court door, considering my grandfather’s property before I was born as a crime, and my wife’s property before my marriage as a crime, and that suspension should not be based on a case that was only registered and filed at the court door.’

‘A person should not always go to court, always have arguments. My intention is to resolve the issue of the first parliament from the parliament itself. I had appealed here thinking that I would have to fight the case in many places. But if the Speaker is right about one thing, it will take the form of revenge tomorrow, and there is a possibility that the number of government members will go up and down tomorrow by using this weapon. I told him that if so, let’s discuss it in the house today. How many people can be suspended at a time? Because if the case is filed, it is enough. “You know how many years it takes to resolve a case,” he said.

‘The government has become a weapon to end it if another party’s leader is in the contest tomorrow. I have requested that we not go into this situation. He took it positively. I am here, I am not even in prison. The people of Chitwan have voted me in and sent me home after winning by voting twice.’ He added, ‘How can the government say this again and imprison me? They are keeping it there and there. I will say one thing, on Thursday, I, a person, should appear in four courts of this country.’

‘I have been waiting as long as possible for the legal processes to be completed, where to file the case, and for all that to be done. The court and the process should be respected, I was waiting for some questions to come. But the government is using it as a weapon and is flaunting it. There is no statute of limitations on cases filed by people. Everything is known, it is public knowledge. The government says it has covered up, but we are seeing it naked. The government thinks it has covered up, as if it has been covered up by the three corners. It has become naked, it is not visible,’ he mentioned.

President Lamichhane said that he has not appeared in political programs for some time with the aim of respecting the court process and ensuring that all cases are resolved. Stating that the government is using the Parsa issue as a weapon against him, he commented that the Tinkune incident was also on behalf of the government.

He said that just as the government tried to cover up the incident after seeing everything, it is trying to cover up its own issue in Parsa.
