Kathmandu. Former Finance Minister and Nepali Congress MP Gyanendra Bahadur Karki has said that a cleanup campaign should be launched to identify old vehicles at the customs, including Singha Durbar. Speaking at the Finance Committee meeting under the House of Representatives on Tuesday, he said.
He said that every campaign to make it beautiful and clean is currently underway, and that the cleaning should be started by determining whether or not old vehicles that have been lying idle for years at Singha Durbar and the customs can be destroyed.
He stressed that there are many vehicles and other materials that need to be destroyed in every customs office and stressed that necessary provisions should be made in the bill for cleaning.
Speaking at the committee meeting, former Finance Minister and Nepali Congress MP Dr. Prakash Sharan Mahat said that it is necessary to further systematize the customs system. He pointed out the need to make the customs more transparent and systematic. He said that emphasis should be placed on discouraging imports by increasing trade and domestic production.
Former Finance Minister Mahat informed that the government is moving forward in discouraging imports and increasing domestic production.
