Kathmandu. Deputy Prime Minister and Finance Minister Bishnu Prasad Poudel has said that it is necessary to get out of the trend of being popular.
In a discussion with the Ministry of Labor, Employment and Social Affairs regarding the budget preparation for the fiscal year 2082/083, Finance Minister Poudel said that realistic and implementable programs and plans are needed rather than distribution and popularity.
He said that distribution alone cannot provide proper returns, stating that priority should be given to labor, skills, employment and production. Finance Minister Poudel stressed the need to seriously review programs related to social security and also emphasized the need to integrate programs with various ministries and agencies.
Minister for Labor, Employment and Social Affairs Sharat Singh Bhandari expressed the need to further organize remittances and said that priority should be given to utilizing the skills of those who returned from foreign employment and internal employment.
National Planning Commission member Dr. Prakash Kumar Shrestha said that it is necessary to review the Prime Minister’s Employment Program and move forward. Finance Secretary Ghanshyam Upadhyay emphasized that skill development should be given priority.
