Kathmandu. The government is going to amend the laws related to foreign employment. Minister for Labor, Employment and Social Security Sharat Singh Bhandari informed the Law, Justice and Human Rights Committee under the House of Representatives on Thursday.
He said that the government is working to manage foreign employment. He said that the number of workers going for foreign employment is increasing and the government is working to reduce this. He informed that the law should be amended so that cases related to foreign employment are handled by the district-level courts and local administrations. He said that the problems seen in the foreign employment sector can be solved only if arrangements are made for the district-level to handle cases related to foreign employment.
He also said that the government has adopted a policy of providing unsecured loans to workers going for foreign employment. He said that the program can be implemented once the cost of going abroad for employment is determined.
