Kathmandu. Rastriya Prajatantra Party lawmaker Roshan Karki has accused ministers of playing video games in parliament. She made the allegation while speaking at a meeting of the House of Representatives. She said she felt that parliament was a place to lie.
Stating that parliament is a place to protect self-respect, she said that there is no place as dull as parliament, adding that parliament is a place to speak but not listen to what is said.
She said that after the allocation of the budget to the ministry, there was a drama to bring policies and programs from the President.
Lawmaker Karki said, “Parliament is a place to lie. There is a place to mortgage self-respect. There is no place like this. It’s being spoken here, you can’t listen to what’s being said. The chairs are empty here. The government has always deceived the people through lawmakers. It can be a budget. The budget can be allocated to the ministry, policies and programs come from the honorable President. There is drama there too. We will make amendments, we will be serious. But ministers come here, play video games, do special things, get up and walk. ’
Lawmaker Karki said the government was becoming autocratic. Has Article 270 of the Constitution been suspended? He asked the question. Is it a republic to be locked up on the basis of writing on social media? She asked. She said the time has come to reconsider the parliamentary system.
