Jhapa. A team of South Korean investors has reached Jhapa on a study tour targeting the upcoming investment summit to be held in Koshi Province on April 17 and 18.
The team, which came at the initiative of the Korea Nepal International Exchange Association, will study the feasibility of investment in various districts of Koshi Province, including Jhapa, said the association’s president, Sirjana Nepali. Mechinagar Municipality also interacted with the team on Wednesday.
In the program, Mayor Gopal Chandra Budhathoki informed about the potential areas of investment in Mechinagar. The Korean team has observed the Kakarbhitta border crossing, Bus Park, Mechi Bridge on the Asian Highway, NMC Dairy Industry, among others on Wednesday itself. The team informed that Korean investors are interested in investing in agriculture, tourism, paper, railways and other sectors.
The Chief Administrative Officer of Mechinagar Municipality, Agni Prasad Adhikari, said that discussions were held with the Korean team on issues such as the construction of a multi-purpose bus park in Kankarbhitta, the establishment of a biological fertilizer factory, the construction of tourism infrastructure for tourism development, the development of technology for agricultural production, technology-friendly agricultural systems and the production of skilled manpower with technology.
During the discussion, Pradeep Ghimire, the national representative of Korea Nepal International Exchange Association Nepal, industrialist Medani Adhikari, Yubaraj Adhikari and others said that there are ample investment opportunities in Nepal and the government needs to bring appropriate policies and programs. .
