Kathmandu. Director Dipendra K Khanal’s new social film ‘Ke Ghar Ke Dera: Ghar No. 2’ has been released across the country from today. The film, which tells the story of urban poverty, the struggle of derawalas, the relationship between gharbeti-derawalas and the life story of ordinary citizens, has tried to highlight the social reality in a lively way.
The story of the film has been written by renowned litterateur Buddhi Sagar. The film stars Khagendra Lamichhane, Nischal Basnet, Keki Adhikari, Aryan Sigdel, Upasana Singh Thakuri, Prakash Ghimire, Srijana Napit, Sanjog Rasaili, Rubina Ghimire and Suraj Bista.
Director Khanal is known as a cine director who has a deep grip on social issues. This time too, he has brought the same story to the screen deep inside the real life of the city.
On the eve of the film’s release, a special premiere show of the film was held at QFX Civil Mall, Sundhara, Kathmandu on Wednesday. But this premiere was not celebrity-centric like other films.
The production team had invited more than 180 random people found in markets, malls and squares to show the film. According to Director Khanal, this experiment is the first style in the Nepali film industry.
“Celebrities or relatives often respond positively, but we wanted to know the honest feelings of the audience. That’s why we made the general public participate,” Khanal said at the premiere. The general audience who attended the premiere gave an enthusiastic response to the film.
