Kathmandu Metropolitan City is laying stones on approximately 33,000 square meters.

Kathmandu. Kathmandu Metropolitan City is going to lay stones on about 33 thousand square meters in the current fiscal year. It has been informed that work is being done with the goal of laying a total of 32 thousand eight hundred and fifty-one square meters of stones for the metropolis.

The Public Works Department of the metropolis has stated that out of eight projects implemented in seven packages through the public procurement process in the current fiscal year, five projects have been completed. With the aim of preserving the originality of the heritage area, enhancing urban beauty, and making pedestrian travel easier, stone laying work is being done in the heritage area, pedestrian paths, internal roads and streets.

According to the head of the department, Suraj Shakya, work is being done in six wards including ward no. 6, 8, 12, 21, 26 and 27 and the Hanuman Dhoka Durbar Conservation Area. The estimated cost for this was Rs 294.788.859 crore.

Through the five completed projects, stones have been laid in an area of 10,729 square meters. Under this, the work of 1,485 square meters of Jayabageshwari Marg from Sifal Seto Dhoka to Jayabageshwari Chowk in Ward No. 8 has been completed.

The cost of this is Rs 12.266 million. Stones have been laid on 1,825 square meters of road from Humat Kholsapakha, Humat to Lagan in Ward No. 12. Its cost is Rs 15,468,800.

The work on an area of 2,092 square meters has been completed in Lagan Chowk, Ward No. 21. Its cost is Rs 13,629,727. The work on an area of 1,017 square meters on Kumarikrupa Marg, Ward No. 26 and a 520 square meter area on Ramhiti Marg, Ward No. 6 has been completed at a cost of Rs 4,487,600.
