Myagdi. The road in the Kalipul Bus Park area of Beni Municipality-8, located at the entrance to Myagdi under the national pride Kaligandaki Corridor connecting China and India, has been blacktopped.
The Beni-Jomsom-Korla road project has blacktopped a 500-meter stretch from the motorable bridge entering Myagdi via Parbat to the suspension bridge connecting Bagarphant using oxford technology, said Uttam Kumar Karmacharya, Ward Chairman of Beni Municipality-8.
On Bhadra 14, 2081, Saksham Brothers Pvt. Ltd. of Beni had signed a contract agreement for Rs. 9.241 million to blacktop the road. After the contract agreement expired in mid-Magh, the project’s information officer Bishnu Chapagain said that the construction company was paid compensation at the rate of 0.05 percent of the total amount per day, effective from Falgun 1.
After pressure from people’s representatives and locals, and the relevant bodies started paying fines, the construction business started blacktopping from Falgun 13, five months and 13 days after the agreement.
Previously, the blacktopping using DBSD technology done in Chaitra 2076 BS had cracked and caused potholes, water stagnation, and dust. The smooth road in Kalipul looks attractive after being blacktopped, and the problem of dust and mud has been eliminated, helping with cleanliness.
Ward Chairman Karmacharya said that initiatives have been taken to blacktop the areas that were missed during the blacktopping process at a minimum width of 11 meters.
