Joint meeting of Federal Parliament underway: President to present government policies and programs

Kathmandu. The government’s policy and program for the upcoming fiscal year is being presented in the Federal Parliament today. President Ram Chandra Poudel is scheduled to present the government’s policy and program in a joint meeting of both houses of the Federal Parliament.

A joint meeting of both houses of the Federal Parliament has been called for 3:00 pm today. According to Padya Prasad Pandey, General Secretary of the Federal Parliament Secretariat, the possible agenda of the joint meeting has been decided. According to Article 95 of the Constitution of Nepal, there is a provision for the President to address the joint meeting of both houses of the Federal Parliament.

Speaker Devraj Ghimire has already urged members of the House of Representatives to take their seats and appear in the prescribed attire by 2:45 pm. Discussions have already been held among the ruling political parties to bring policies and programs for the coming fiscal year to make the economy more dynamic.

Similarly, it is believed that the government’s policies and programs will focus on instilling hope in the youth, entrepreneurship, skill development, startups, business plans, increasing government spending, and maintaining good governance. The Federal Parliament Secretariat has already set an agenda for discussing and passing the government’s policies and programs from April 22 to 28.

Similarly, discussions on the principles and priorities of the Appropriation Bill will begin on April 30. It has been taken as a pre-budget discussion. According to the Constitution of Nepal, the Finance Minister is required to present the government’s budget for the upcoming fiscal year in a joint meeting of the Federal Parliament on 15th Jestha.
