Kathmandu. The Nepali film ‘Jhilko The Spark’, which artistically presents the uncontrolled use of technology, mobile addiction and the psychological state of children, is being screened across the country from today. Focusing on topics such as child psychology, family relationships and social sensitivity, the film is expected to make parents, teachers and policymakers think.
Earlier, Deputy Speaker of the House of Representatives Indira Rana Magar was the chief guest at the grand premiere ceremony organized at INI Cinema, NB Center in Kathmandu. She said that the subject raised by the film is very relevant from a social perspective and that films like ‘Jhilko’ are necessary to understand the psychology of children.
The film stars Sunil Pokharel, Varsha Siwakoti, Vishal Pokharel, Ayushi Dhakal, Javin Javis and Janvi Basnet. The audience especially liked the role of the child character played by Ayushi Dhakal.
The film, produced under the banner of ‘Media for Culture Pvt. Ltd.’, is directed by Yadav Kumar Bhattarai. The story and screenplay were prepared by him in collaboration with Arun Dev Joshi and Dev Brat.
The production team includes executive producer Umesh Poudel and producers Sushila Acharya, Ramgopal Thapa and Kiran Kumar Acharya. Cinematography is by Deepak Bajracharya, editing is by Nimesh Shrestha, sound mixing is by Shyam Kunwar and Uttam Neupane.
