Jhapa. The Inland Revenue Office has collected Rs 2.61 billion in revenue in the 10 months of the current fiscal year.
This is an increase of 9.56 percent compared to the same period last fiscal year. Chief Tax Officer Krishna Chandra Kafle informed rss that revenue of Rs 2.38 billion was collected in the last fiscal year. He said the office has set a target of collecting Rs 4.61 billion revenue in the current fiscal year.
Chief Tax Officer Kafle said that although the revenue collection has increased compared to the last fiscal year, only 83.03 percent of the target of the 10 months of the current fiscal year has been collected. The office has collected Rs 1.16 billion from income tax, Rs 865.5 million from interest, Rs 865.49 million from value added tax and Rs 474.64 million from excise duty in the last 10 months.
“The office is constantly monitoring and monitoring the market to achieve the revenue collection target. Besides, legal action is also taken against taxpayers who have not paid their tax dues, including freezing of bank accounts, land passes and mutation,” said Chief Tax Officer Kafle.
