Kathmandu. Deputy Prime Minister and Finance Minister Bishnu Poudel has said that the government has been struggling to meet its expenses by raising revenue, so it has had to bring the Financial Procedures and Fiscal Responsibility Amendment Bill. Speaking at the meeting of the House of Representatives on Sunday, Minister Poudel said this.
He said that due to the difficulty in meeting the expenses with revenue, a low budget has been allocated even under the mandatory liability heading in the current fiscal year’s budget. He informed that although the target was to raise 31 percent of the revenue, a low budget has been allocated under the mandatory liability heading.
He said that in such a situation, there should be no delay in preparing the budget. He clarified that the government has brought forward the amendment bill with the intention of seriously realizing the responsibility of returning to discipline while preparing the budget.
He also mentioned that it has become difficult to ensure the implementation of these plans as 11,000 additional development projects have been added in the current fiscal year.
