Kathmandu. Kathmandu: National Assembly member Bamdev Gautam has objected to Nepal giving free shaligram to India. Speaking at the Development, Economic Affairs and Good Governance Committee under the National Assembly on Sunday, Gautam said shaligram should not be given free of cost to India.

He said that the Nc and Maoist-led governments had given shaligram of Kaligandaki river to India free of cost without informing the Nepali people. He said that it is not appropriate to give precious shaligrams free of cost without studying how diamonds are made.

CpN (Maoist Centre) lawmaker Jhakku Prasad Subedi stressed the need of doing as much as the current capital could. He claimed that if the country is to be developed, then industrialization is only agriculture. However, instead of giving budget to agriculture, it is TAG_OPEN_span_9 different to give budget to farmers because TAG_OPEN_span_8 TAG_CLOSE_span_9 the budget and plan are different, he said. He stressed the need to make production-oriented by properly utilizing the remittances coming from abroad.
