Indra Bahadur Singh of Kailali saves Rs 800,000 annually from mango sales

Kailali. Indra Bahadur Singh Madai, Lok Bahadur Madai and Man Bahadur Madai of Malakheti Khamoura of Godawari Municipality-10 of Kailali have been doing business by renting a mango orchard in Geta in a joint partnership.

It has been 11 years since Indra Bahadur has been working here by renting your garden. Prior to this, he had been doing business by renting a mango orchard on the land of Ghanteshwor Temple at Khamoura of Malakheti.

After the storm damaged the garden here, along with his brothers Man Bahadur and Lok Bahadur, he rented a mango orchard of a local at Geta in Godavari-5 and started the business again. One has to pay Rs 500,000 for a ‘season’ of mango orchard spread over five bighas of land.

The mango season is currently underway. Different types of mangoes have grown in the garden of the Madai brothers. Nowadays, there is a crowd of people going to the garden to buy mangoes. “We have not used any pesticides or medicines in the aap grown here. The number of customers looking for mangoes in the garden is increasing as it is pesticide-free,” said Indra Bahadur, an entrepreneur. Customers take mangoes from the garden. ’

Man Bahadur Madai, another businessman, said that customers from Dhangadhi, Attariya Caps road, Lamki of Kailali and Gulariya, Mahendranagar and Daiji of Kanchanpur come to collect mangoes. He said that mangoes worth Rs 500,000 have been sold so far this season. “More than half of the mangoes are still left in the garden. There are some people who cook a little late. Mangoes worth Rs 1 million are still left,” man Bahadur said.

Indra Bahadur informed that the workers save up to Rs 800,000 by deducting all expenses including wages during the season. According to him, around Rs 35,000 to Rs 45,000 are traded daily. Mangoes are sold here at Rs 80 and wholesale rs 60.
