Kathmandu. Indian Minister for Power, Housing and Urban Affairs Manohar Lal Khattar is visiting Nepal on Tuesday. He is coming here at the invitation of Energy, Water Resources and Irrigation Minister Deepak Khadka.
During his visit to India on Magh 30, Minister Khadka had extended an invitation to Indian Minister for Power Khattar to visit Nepal. He is coming to Nepal for a two-day visit, informed the ministry’s spokesperson Sandeep Kumar Dev.
Along with Minister Khadka, Indian Minister Khattar is scheduled to jointly inaugurate the Inaruwa-Basantapur-Baneshwor-Tumlingtar 200 kV transmission line and 220/133/33 kV Tumlingtar substation, 220/33 kV Baneshwor substation and 220/133/33 kV Basantapur substation under the Koshi Corridor 220 kV transmission line, which was completed with the assistance of the Indian government, at Tumlingtar in Sankhuwasabha on Tuesday. Spokesperson Dev said that he will inspect the power house and dam area of the Arun III Hydropower Project built by India on the same day.
The construction process will be taken forward by signing the agreement for the transmission line to be built with joint investment between Nepal and India on Tuesday itself. Indian Minister Khattar is scheduled to visit Muktinath on Baisakh 10. Spokesperson Dev informed that he has scheduled a courtesy call on Prime Minister KP Sharma Oli and Deputy Prime Minister and Urban Development Minister Prakash Man Singh.
