Kathmandu. Police have arrested a man with 1.159 kg gold from Tribhuvan International Airport( TIA). The arrestee has been identified as Meena Surjit Singh Khemani, 53, an Indian national, central police spokesperson Binod Ghimire said.
“Nij Khemani, who arrived in Kathmandu from Sharjah on an Air Arabia flight, was arrested from the tunnel gate of the airport’s arrival customs area with a semi-white substance weighing about 1 kg 159 grams of gold,” he said. Spokesperson Ghimire said that the police have recovered and arrested three pieces of gold-like substance wrapped with plastic and further investigation is underway in this regard.
