Indian Electricity Minister in Kathmandu

Kathmandu. Indian Minister for Power and Housing and Urban Affairs Manohar Lal Khattar arrived in Kathmandu today on a two-day visit to Nepal.

Indian Minister Khattar, who is visiting Nepal at the invitation of Minister for Energy, Water Resources and Irrigation Deepak Khadka, is currently on his way to inspect the power house and dam area of the Arun III Hydropower Project in Sankhuwasabha district, informed Sandeep Kumar Dev, spokesperson of the Ministry of Energy, who has now left for the project.

The 900 MW hydropower project, which is being built in Makalu Rural Municipality of Sankhuwasabha with an Indian investment of Rs 104 billion, was jointly inaugurated by the then Prime Minister KP Sharma Oli and Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi in 2075 BS. .

Similarly, the Ministry of Energy has stated that Minister Khattar will participate in the agreement signing ceremony to be held in Kathmandu today related to the Lamki-Bareilly and Inaruwa-Purnia transmission lines to be built with joint investment from Nepal and India.

Khattar, the Indian Minister for Power, Infrastructure and Urban Affairs, who is in Nepal on a two-day visit, is scheduled to pay a courtesy call on Prime Minister KP Sharma Oli and Deputy Prime Minister and Urban Development Minister Prakash Man Singh.

Similarly, he will also pay a religious visit to Mustang and Pashupatinath during his visit to Nepal, Spokesperson Dev informed.
