Kathmandu. Indian Ambassador to Nepal Naveen Srivastava has paid a courtesy call on Minister for Energy, Water Resources and Irrigation Deepak Khadka. Various issues of Nepal-India energy cooperation were discussed in the meeting held today at the Ministry of Energy in Singha Durbar.
In the meeting, Energy Minister Khadka thanked the Government of India for the achievements made in the areas of electricity trade, construction of additional transmission lines and Indian-invested hydropower projects through the mechanisms formed to implement the Nepal-India Power Trade Agreement.
The meeting discussed the early completion of the Detailed Project Report (DPR) of the Pancheshwor Multipurpose Project. Similarly, the ministry stated that discussions were held on the upcoming visit of Indian Power Minister Manohar Lal Khattar to Nepal.
During the meeting, Indian Ambassador to Nepal Srivastava requested the minister to provide necessary facilitation to advance the projects being constructed in Nepal with Indian investment. He said that India always supports and cooperates in electricity trade, development of additional transmission lines, and production of green hydrogen.
