Imports reached close to 1 trillion in seven months, these are the 10 most imported items

Kathmandu. In the 7 months of the current year, imports have been worth 988 billion 587.7 million rupees. Compared to the last fiscal year 2080/081, imports have increased by 10.09 percent.

In the 7 months of the previous fiscal year, goods and services worth 897 billion 438.9 million were imported. Imports have been increasing in recent months. Imports worth 161 billion rupees were imported in the month of Poush. Imports worth 166 billion were imported in the month of Magh.

The government has collected 262 billion 95 million rupees in revenue from imports in the 7 months. The trade deficit has reached 861 billion 38 million during this period. Exports have reached 111.57 billion.

So far, diesel, petrol and gas have ranked first, second and third among the most imported items. Crude soybean oil has ranked fourth. Nepali businessmen are exporting enthusiastically after India increased the customs duty on soybean oil.

Similarly, iron raw materials have ranked fifth among the most imported items. Pharmaceuticals have ranked sixth, while iron and steel products have been imported in seventh place. Similarly, rice has ranked eighth in the list of most imported items. Sunflower oil has ranked ninth, while smartphones have ranked 10th.
