Ganapati Santosh Kumar Basnet of Headquarters No. 11 informed that the Armed Police Force (APF) seized vehicles worth Rs 6.93 million in four months. “The number of illegal stolen goods has increased with the increased activity of the border security personnel,” he said, adding that a Scorpio, an autorickshaw, 54 motorcycles and four bicycles have also been seized. ’
During the same period, illegal groceries and cosmetics, clothes and motor parts worth Rs 8,568,224 were seized, according to the No. 11 Headquarters Office. Ganapati Basnet informed that rs 1 million 61 thousand undisclosed from the source has also been recovered in the last four months. According to him, rs 604,640 in unaccounted cash and a semi-automatic pistol have also been seized.
Basnet said 10 Nepali women were rescued from the border point on suspicion of human trafficking, adding that 53 kg of marijuana and other drugs were also seized in the same period. Five units under the headquarters have been directed to control illegal smuggling and illegal activities in the border areas.
