Kathmandu. Minister for Drinking Water Pradeep Yadav has said that if women are given opportunities, they can do the best work by becoming the country’s Prime Minister. Speaking at an interaction seminar on ‘Conditions, Opportunities and Challenges’ on Women’s Leadership at the Drinking Water Consumers’ Association in Kathmandu on Monday, he said this.
He said that women are not weak. He insisted that if women are given opportunities, they will do the best work by becoming the country’s Prime Minister. He said that women are not weak, citing that Bidya Devi Bhandari has led Nepal as the head of state.
He urged the Federation President to make it mandatory to have 1,000 women presidents out of 42,000 consumers in the Drinking Water Consumers’ Federation.
Minister Yadav said, ‘Women are not weak. Why not, the most important position, the biggest post, the President of our country is held by a woman. Bidya Devi Bhandari has made the country run by the President’s office. Certainly, this country has held an important position like the President by a woman. The Speaker of the House of Representatives has also been held by a woman. The Chief Secretary of the Civil Service has also been held by a woman. Give her an opportunity. If given an opportunity, the Prime Minister will also be held by the best woman. But if she is not given an opportunity, why move forward, let’s introduce proportional representation. Women will win, right? There is a mandatory quota for women in the Lok Sabha in India. I urge the Chairman of the Drinking Water Consumers Federation, there are 42 thousand consumers, 21 thousand consumers, to decide whether a woman president should be made mandatory. Whether a woman comes or not, it is up to you, decide.’
Minister Yadav said that women have come a long way in education.
