Kathmandu. Rastriya Prajatantra Party, Nepal Chairman Kamal Thapa has said that the constitution amendment has been made to prevent some political parties from changing the system and that this effort will not be allowed to succeed.
Chairman Thapa made this comment while addressing a commitment meeting organized by the Joint People’s Movement Committee in Kathmandu on Wednesday. He accused the major political parties of trying to amend the constitution in a way that would prevent them from changing the federal democratic republican system in order to maintain their dominance in power and secure their power.
He warned that if the system is not changed through constitutional amendment, the country will be set on fire.
He said, “Perhaps the Prime Minister is trying to amend the constitution in a way that prevents the federal secular republic from being changed. It seems that some political parties are trying to amend the constitution in a way that prevents the federal secular republic from being changed in order to maintain their dominance and secure their power. I would like to humbly request the leaders of the major political parties that if you do this, the country will be set on fire.” You are the first victims of that fire.’
He says that he is not at all disturbed by the incident of Chait 15.
