Kathmandu. Nepali Congress leader Dr. Shashank Koirala has said that former King Gyanendra Shah misused his power even when he was given opportunities repeatedly.
He said this while giving a brief response to the media at the Federal Parliament premises on Monday. He said that there is no need for the king as there is no guarantee that he will not misuse the state power if he is given another opportunity.
He said that the people will decide how to move the system forward. He made it clear that he is in favor of the Hindu nation. He said, “We have given the king opportunities repeatedly, given opportunities. He misused them. What guarantee is there that he will not misuse them now? That is why we do not need the king now.” I am in favor of the Hindu nation.’
He said that the royalist side was responsible for inciting the mob in the Tinkune incident and should be brought to justice.
