Kathmandu. Dailekh is likely to emerge as nepal’s energy source as the results of the investigation initiated at the initiative of former Industry Minister Som Prasad Pandey are being made public.

Pandey, who holds the Ministry of Industry, visited Dailekh three times in an interactive programme organized at Rafat Sanchar Club and took initiative to investigate the hidden fuel sources there. There was a proposal to cooperate with the Chinese government as Nepal lacked technical resources at that time. China had signed a deal worth Rs 5 billion after a preliminary study conducted by a Chinese expert team showed the possibility of petrol.

Pandey said that the excavation process was formally started from May 1, 2019 after land acquisition and local coordination, while the latest study has confirmed that there is about 112 billion cubic meters of methane gas in Dailekh.

Sharing his experience of the success at a program organized at Rafat Sanchar Club, Pandey said, “It is not just the extraction of fuel, it is the beginning of Nepal’s economic revolution. The dream that I went ahead with is coming true today. ”

He also complained that the government was slow in mining other mineral resources. There are minerals in the country, but they have not been used due to weak political will,” Pandey said.

According to him, preliminary discussions have already been held with China regarding the uranium mine in Mustang. He said That Nepal can take the path of economic self-reliance by utilizing such mineral resources.

Dailekh is now expected to become a hub not only for tourism and culture but also for energy resources.

Although the government is the most powerful government ever formed, he said that due to the activities of the government, there is hatred towards the political party and the government. He alleged that Nepal’s progress would not have been possible without economic revolution but the government had failed to pay attention to it.

Pandey claimed that nepal’s economic face would be transformed if the government gives first priority to water resources, tourism, agriculture, mineral resources and exploration, which have the potential to take the lead in the economic side in a short time.
