Kathmandu. The opposition parties have obstructed the meeting of the House of Representatives today. Opposition parties have been obstructing the meeting for the past two weeks demanding the resignation of Home Minister Ramesh Lekhak over the visit visa issue.

As soon as the meeting began today, opposition lawmakers stood up and protested with slogans. Lawmakers from the ruling party have also been demanding that the Home Minister should be allowed to speak in parliament.

Speaker Devraj Ghimire’s repeated requests to provide time to speak in the House on party basis failed to create an atmosphere for discussion.

Speaker Ghimire urged the lawmakers of the opposition parties to remove the obstruction. Despite continuous discussions between the ruling and opposition parties before the meeting, no consensus has been reached. The next meeting of the Assembly will be held at 3 pm on Thursday.
