Hotels in Bhedetar are getting back on track with the ‘Sky Walk’

Dhankuta. The Sky Walk Tower, which has been operational in the tourist town of Bhedetar since last Shrawan, has provided relief to the hotel business here. Businessmen say that the hotel business in Bhedetar, which had been drying up due to the Corona epidemic and the economic recession, has improved with the operation of the tower.

‘Business is not like before Corona, but after the construction of the tower, it is doing better than during the Corona period,’ said Ramesh Shrestha, owner of Hotel Arun Top. Shrestha, who has been in the hotel business for the past 18 years, expressed confidence that the slowdown seen in the hotel business in Bhedetar will gradually disappear.

Similarly, Leela Raj Lawati, owner of Hotel Lawati Corner, also said that the business of hotels here, which had been stagnant since the Corona epidemic, has improved after the operation of the Sky Tower. He informed that he hopes that Bhedetar will regain its former commercial reputation if the tourist attractions in this area are promoted and promoted.

Tumraj Limbu, President of the Hotel Association Bhedetar, complained that although the skywalk has improved the business here, the tower’s entry fee is a bit expensive and has not attracted as many tourists as expected.

Currently, there are more than 100 tourist-oriented hotels and about 200 small hotels in Bhedetar. Jitendra Rumdali Rai, Chairman of Sangurigadhi Rural Municipality, informed that this sky walk, built on the border of Dhankuta and Dharan Sub-metropolitan City of Sangurigadhi Rural Municipality, has played an important role in the tourism and trade of Bhedetar.

The sky walk was built with an investment of Rs 200 million by Wonders Amusement Parks and Attractions Pvt. Ltd., under the Koshi Province Investment Board and Wonders Group. The Sky Walk Tower, which has been in operation since July 1, has been visited by more than 150,000 tourists till Falgun, informed Sanjiv Rokaya, Managing Director of the operating company. He said that more than Rs 50 million was traded from the Sky Walk Tower during that period.
