Bhaktapur. Nagarkot hoteliers have announced a 10 percent discount for tourists coming to the city in support of the Nagarkot Visit Year-2082, which will begin on April 1. The businessmen made this announcement at a discussion held at Changunarayan Municipality on Wednesday with the mayors and public representatives of the four municipalities here to prepare for the visit year.
Changunarayan Mayor Jeevan Khatri said that hoteliers have announced a 10 percent discount for tourists coming here throughout the year since the start of the visit year. He said that hotel and tourism businessmen have been urged to make arrangements and behave in such a way that domestic and foreign tourists coming to Nagarkot will stay longer, and tourists who have come once will come again and leave happy. ‘Businessmen who are operating hotels by investing crores should start welcoming tourists with the necessary investment under social responsibility to make the visit year a success. It is also necessary to create discount packages for domestic tourists of all categories to easily stay and eat,’ said Mayor Khatri.
Along with Changunarayan Municipality, Mandandeupur, Banepa and Shankarapur Municipalities are jointly organizing the Visit Year.
From hoteliers to locals, they have been urged to work on cleaning their homes, neighborhoods and neighbourhoods to welcome tourists to make the Visit Year a success. It has been emphasized that the local level should also pay attention to the necessary preparations and infrastructure construction. The municipality has announced that it has already called for a tender to blacktop the Nagarkot-Kamalbinayak road section leading to Nagarkot, targeting the Visit Nepal Year.
Mandan Deupur Municipality Mayor Top Bahadur Waiba said that Nagarkot is a meeting point for all four municipalities and that all four municipalities will take the initiative to make the Visit Nepal Year a success. He informed that all four municipalities will invest in the development of the tourist area and the construction of physical infrastructure here.
Banepa Municipality Mayor Shanti Ratna Shakya urged that a discount ‘package’ be made for the Visit Nepal Year as hotels in Nagarkot are expensive. He said that the municipality is working to repair the water supply in Nagarkot and that arrangements should be made so that tourists coming to Nagarkot can visit the tourist areas of all four municipalities.
Nabir Gurung, Chairman of the Nagarkot Naldum Tourism Development Committee, informed that the construction of the permanent structure of the inauguration site for the launch of the Visit Year on Baisakh 1 has reached the final stage. He said that the committee will discuss the contribution of tourism entrepreneurs again and take further decisions.
Dhan Bahadur Lama, ward chairman of Changunarayan Municipality-6, Nagarkot, said that during the visit year, entrepreneurs will give a 10 percent discount, all hotels will decorate their hotels and surrounding areas, make them twinkle with lights, and hold publicity and promotional programs.
In the program, tourism entrepreneur Sugratna Kansakar, contact person for Nagarkot Visit Year-2082 and expert Dr. Ghanshyam Khatiwada, among others, said that programs will be introduced to attract tourists to Nagarkot.
