Chitwan. Ila Hotel and Resort has officially come into operation in Maulakalika, Gaindakot Municipality-1, Nawalpur with the investment of IME Group. The hotel has been brought into operation two years after the Maulakali Cable Car came into operation.
The hotel, located at the upper station of Maulakali Cable Car, has 65 rooms, including suites and deluxe rooms, a banquet and conference hall with a capacity of 1,000 people, and a restaurant, said Chandra Dhakal, Chairman of IME Group and Maulakali Cable Car. IME Group has operated the cable car and hotel in partnership with locals.
Dhakal said that the construction of the cable car and hotel has made it easier for tourists visiting Devbhoomi and Tapobhoomi, including Narayani, Devghat, Triveni.
According to Dhakal, IME Group is building tourism infrastructure including cable cars, hotels and resorts in all seven provinces. From here, one can observe the panoramic views of Nawalpur, Devghat and Chitwan. It is estimated that the number of tourists staying overnight will increase with the operation of the hotel in this religious tourist area.
Amrit Bhattachan, President of the Gandaki Province of the Federation of Nepalese Chambers of Commerce and Industry, said that the cable car and hotel in Maulakalika will help promote tourism here. Stating that tourists from India and even third countries have come since the cable car came into operation, he said that the operation of the hotel will help extend the stay of tourists.
More than 25 percent of devotees have been coming since the cable car to Maulakalika Temple came into operation. The number of devotees is expected to increase with the operation of the hotel.
IME Group has so far built and operated cable cars in three provinces, and with the operation of this hotel, projects including hotels have come into operation in two. The hotel construction process is underway in Basantapur, the top station of the Lumbini Cable Car, while the construction of a hotel, resort and cable car is progressing simultaneously in Kailali in the far west.
The cable car will be operational there within the next year, and the hotel and resort will also be operational shortly after that, informed Dhakal, the group’s chairman. Similarly, the construction of a cable car is in progress in Pathibhara in Taplejung.
