Home Minister on Pathibhara Cable Car: ‘Government is committed to addressing the problems of local communities’

Kathmandu. Home Minister Ramesh Lekhak has said that the government wants a peaceful solution to the problem through talks and dialogue regarding the Pathibhara cable car construction dispute. Speaking at the National Assembly meeting on Sunday, he said this.

He also said that the negotiation team formed by the Home Ministry has held repeated talks with the agitating parties to resolve the problems seen during the construction of the cable car.

He also said that the government is committed to addressing the cultural, religious and local community problems raised by the agitating parties. He said that the government has taken the issue of resolving the problem peacefully seriously.

He said, “The Ministry of Home Affairs has taken the initiative to resolve the disputes and problems seen during the construction of the Pavira Temple in Taplejung. The government wants a peaceful resolution of the problem through talks and dialogue. For this, a negotiation team was formed on February 20 under the leadership of the Joint Secretary of the Ministry of Home Affairs to hold talks with the concerned parties, and the team is facilitating the agitating parties. Due to some obstacles in the talks recently, the negotiation team has called the agitating parties for talks again on February 20. The government is committed to addressing the cultural, religious and local community issues raised by the agitating parties.

He claimed that the security forces are currently maintaining peace and security in the Pathibhara area with a high level of restraint.
