Kathmandu. Home Minister Ramesh Lekhak has warned that any activity against the constitution and the federal democratic republican system will not be tolerated. Responding to questions raised by lawmakers in the House of Representatives meeting on Thursday, Home Minister Lekhak gave this warning.
He said that the government is committed to bringing anarchic activities against the constitution and the system within the legal ambit and providing security to the citizens. He termed the royalist demonstration held in Tinkune on Chaitra 15 as a destructive incident and said that an investigation is being conducted by the authorized body in this regard.
He informed that those involved in anarchic activities during the demonstration were taken into custody and necessary investigation and prosecution work was being carried out without prejudice. Stating that the Tinkune protest incident of the royalists was destructive and against the constitution, Minister Lekhak warned against repeating such incidents in the future.
He said, ‘The government has taken the destructive incident that occurred during the protest organized by the supporters of the former king in Tinkune, Kathmandu on Chaitra 15 very seriously. Since there is no time to present the matter in Parliament immediately and the House is nearing its end, I would like to inform you that I have already presented the government’s opinion, the opinion of the Ministry of Home Affairs, and my personal opinion to the esteemed committees of the House of Representatives. I would like to inform you that the investigation into this incident is being conducted by the authorized body, and the necessary investigation and prosecution work is being carried out without any prejudice by taking those involved in the incident under control.’
‘This incident was destructive and anti-constitutional. It was against the current system. The government is committed to bringing anarchic activities against the constitution and the system under the purview of the law, ensuring security for the citizens and creating an environment where the Federal Democratic Republic can be used without any hindrance. Any activities or activities against the current constitution and the Federal Democratic Republic will not be tolerated,’ he mentioned.
The Minister also said that the government is serious and aware of the issues raised in the House by the MPs.
